Melting and casting production line
In order to complete the production cycle and fully monitor the quality of the final product, in 1401, Fararou Steel Company launched an alloy steel ingot smelting and casting plant with an area of 8,000 square meters and a nominal capacity of 24,000 tons in Shamsabad Industrial Park, Tehran.
Fararou Steel’s smelting and casting production line consists of two two-pot induction melting furnaces with a capacity of 7 tons with the ability to cast from the bottom and blow argon gas to reduce impurities and increase the quality of the melt. Molten steel is cast into steel ingots with sizes of 100×100, 125×125 and 150×150 mm by a continuous casting line. This company has the ability to produce CCM ingots of the highest quality and in different lengths (up to 12 meters) according to customer orders.
In order to fully supply the raw materials required for the rolling line in rebar sizes above 100 mm, the company has launched an induction furnace with a capacity of 2 tons, which is used to produce steel billets by vertical casting. In billets produced by vertical casting, due to the complete elimination of gas bubbles and porosity and the formation of columnar and fine-grained grain structures, in addition to having very high quality, it has made it possible to produce special and sensitive alloys. Currently, the production of vertical billets from sizes 200×200 to 300×300 mm and also vertical slabs is possible in the Fararo steel complex.
To ensure the quality and accuracy of the analysis of all manufactured products, Fararou Steel Company is equipped with 2 quantometers that sample and analyze the produced ingots and rebars at several stages of production. To ensure the correct operation of the quantometers, a calibration check with a control sample (CRM) is performed at the beginning of each work shift and a full calibration is performed monthly.
