Hot rolling production lines and heat treatment furnaces
Hot rolling production lines and heat treatment furnaces
The Fararou steel hot rolling line is equipped with an intelligent temperature control system to adjust the temperature of the inlet, middle and outlet sections of the furnace based on the type and size of the incoming billet. The quality and type of billet and bloom billet entering the hot rolling line is one of the main factors affecting the quality of the outgoing rebar.
With the aim of achieving customer satisfaction and complete supervision of the production cycle, all rebars are produced from billets produced in the Fararou smelting and casting plant. Also, due to the hot bending of the produced rebars, the final loads are completely flat and without warping. The dimensional specifications and capacity of the rolling line with the ability to produce industrial rebar sections are as follows.
| Incoming billet sections | 100 × 100 to 300 × 300 mm |
| Size of produced rebars | 30 to 185 mm |
| Annual capacity | 60,000 tons |
| Maximum rebar length | 14 meters |
Annealing of alloy steel rebars is one of the most important heat treatment processes that is performed to improve the mechanical, physical and structural properties of the rebar. The purpose of this work is to reduce hardness, increase ductility, improve microstructure and prepare the rebar for subsequent operations such as peeling, forging or machining. Some alloys produced may have high hardness after rolling, which is converted into softer pearlite and ferrite by annealing the steel structure. In addition, steel rebars usually have a heterogeneous structure and coarse grains after rolling, which are formed after annealing, new and uniform grains. Other benefits of annealing are the elimination of residual stresses, increased toughness and impact resistance, and improved ductility and bending.
In order to provide complete services to customers, a heat treatment furnace with a capacity of 30 tons and the ability to charge rebars up to 8 meters long, with the ability to perform various types of thermal diagrams (according to customer requests), has been built and put into operation at the Fararou Steel Complex.
Steel products
Steels are a group of iron-carbon alloys in which the carbon content is much lower than that of cast iron. In steels, elements such as silicon and manganese are present in small amounts, and elements such as phosphorus and sulfur are present as impurities. This table shows the specifications of some of the alloys produced at Fararou Steel Company based on the EN10084 standard.
